The Arts Décoratifs has given carte blanche to one of the most innovative and creative fashion designers of our time: Hussein Chalayan . Following his own unique approach to design for seventeen years, he stands on the frontier of fashion, architecture and design.

The exhibition showcas es this rich, complex world, in which clothing, installations , fashion shows, projections and research are shown side by side to illustrate the artist ’s distinctive process .

For this new edition, Jessica Stam, dressed by Giles and shooted by Patrick Demarchelier, graces the cover of the magazine.
The 562-page debut issue contains 252 pages of advertising and confirms the development of fashion and luxury in Turkey and especially in Istanbul. “It is definitely an emerging market”, precised Jonathan Newhouse, CEO of Condé Nast International.
The launch of this new edition was celebrated during the Paris Fashion Week at Hotel de Crillon.
During the last Paris fashion week F/W 2010 (from March, 3rd to March, 10th 2010) we went to meet fashion addicts outside shows and we asked them what was their general style, how they had made up their outfit of the day and what was the key element of they look.
We gathered the most popular look of the moment on one video; do mind a trend for Sarwels and coloured shoes.
And, on another video, students who were already making up their own personnal and very interesting style.

“Les Fleurs du Mal” Florian Ladstätter’s latest collection will make its debut in the windows of Parisian boutique Colette on March 4. This special collection ranges from one-off experimental pieces of jewellery to surreal domestic objects.
As part of a still-life installation it will include bespoke crystal mirrors, designed in collaboration with legendary Viennese glasswear company J. & L. Lobmeyer and cut to resemble ornate orchids – the collection’s central motif and inspiration.
A limited edition catalogue has specially been conceived to accompany the launch. A foreword by social anthropologist Ted Polhemus debates the triggers of desire and decoration of the human body in the context of Florian’s work, while Penny Martin (SHOWstudio’s editor-in-chief) gets to the root of Florian’s motivation and inspirations. Photographers Danilo Giuliani and Bernd Preiml have realised a series of challenging and stunning images which present entirely novel interpretations of Florian’s work.

getConfused has conceived a special website for this collection: www.florian-design.com.
At last, but by no means least, Vienna’s Mak Museum (which will host an exhibition by Florian at a later date) has provided invaluable financial assistance enabling the catalogue to be produced to the highest standards. To them, and all those who have supported Florian, all that remains to be said is a heartfelt thank you for nurturing his vision and allowing it to flourish beyond his wildest dreams.
