Very wise choice from Halston we think. The mythical American brand was relaunched in 2008, but it seems it needed a strong designer behind. Stay tuned!

Italian label Costume National is opening its new flagship store on Mercer street, at the very heart of SoHo, the vibrant and trendy New York neighborhood.
The vast shop, conceived by the brand’s founder Ennio Capasa, will be materialised by architects Fausto Poli and Guelfo Carpegna.

“This new space of about 350 square metres is the evolution of my previous store in Wooster Street,” comments Ennio Capasa, “where total black was dominating. In the new space there is an almost fluid atmosphere with many reflecting surfaces. I conceived it by imagining an architecture of the future with roots in classic Italian design.”

A very futuristic space indeed. A”cyber-chic” atmosphere that will be emphasized by shiny chrome and white fittings and industrial features.

The inauguration is scheduled for the 12th of September during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. We hear that a very special guest will give a surprise performance. Watch that space.

Halston, the American fashion brand synonym to the disco golden years is to be relaunched during New York fashion week at the Gagosian gallery. The hype surrounding the event is huge. Acquired by film producer Harvey Weinstein and creatively supervised, among others, by star stylist Rachel Zoe, the brand is expected to be Hollywood’s new fashion crush, worn and adored by influent celebrities.

Halston teamed up with Net-a-Porter on a major fashion coup: two of the featured looks will be available on the luxury retail website on the very next day for immediate delivery – the opportunity for fashion conscious customers to be the first in a trend, way before it would have been knocked off by high-street retailers.
