Colette will be the exclusive stockists of Fashion Jewellery: Catwalk and Couture until the book’s international release on March 22nd. This event is therefore an opportunity to see and own it before anyone else!
As the first book to explore this exciting field, Fashion Jewellery: Catwalk and Couture contains in-depth profiles of 33 international jewellers, as well as details of their collaborations with leading fashion designers including Comme des Garçons, Vivienne Westwood, Yves Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen.

Packed with original interviews, the book also features specially commissioned photos and never-seen-before sketches from the likes of Jordan Askill, Alexis Bittar, Erickson Beamon, Judy Blame, Bless, Lara Bohinc, Natalia Brilli, Delfina Delttrez, Florian, Husam el Odeh and Scott Wilson to name a few…
Colette and Maia have co-invited a selection of the jewellers featured in Fashion Jewellery: Catwalk and Couture to each create a single piece of jewellery to be displayed, and sold, at Colette. If you’ve ever wanted to own a truly unique piece of jewellery, this is your opportunity to get your hands on a one-off work by some of the most creative designers working today.

* The very special collection entitled « Nothing to lose, Crocodile! » will be available at Colette from March 1st to April 3rd, 2010
The whole jewelry wardrobe of a true bejeweled woman is made in a whole crocodile skin : loops, circles, squares are cut up with shape cutters to build necklaces, bracelets and earrings. The remaining skin shape is the ultimate jewelry piece to wear around the neck or to hang up to the wall as a «wall jewelry». Pink or emerald crocodile pieces enhanced with cream pearls beads and coppered metal elements questions the «tape-à-l’oeil» concept of luxury designs.

Fashion Jewellery: Catwalk and Couture by Maia Adams
Fashion jewellery is created with the catwalk and couture in mind, characterized by its creativity and originality. It is arguably the most exciting field in fashion today. Arranged by designer, this is the first book to showcase contemporary catwalk and couture jewellery, profiling 33 international fashion jewellers who combine traditional techniques and ultra-modern methods to create this new style of jewellery. Among the stunning images of work shown are collaborations with leading fashion designers and brands such as Lanvin, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Comme des Garçons, as well as collections for directional fashion stores such as Colette and 10 Corso Como.
Fashion Jewellery will provide inspiration for designers, jewellers and students of fashion, offering a unique insight into the working methods and inspirations of a new generation of jewellers. Showcasing skilled craftsmanship, unusual materials and an often limited-edition approach Fashion Jewellery harnesses the spirit of couture for the 21st century.
