Cecilia Hammarborg’s new collection “Black River Falls” will launch at London Fashion Week as part of Topshop’s new EDIT designer range for Autumn/Winter 09-10.
You can beat the crowds by purchasing Hammarborg’s collection from Swanfield on Tour, her cooperative pop-up boutique.
“Made in London, the ultimate fusion of classic tailoring and carefully constructed shapes, combined with modern design detailing using quality Italian fabrics; glamour and luxury are mixed to perfection with functionality.
A visual paradox is illustrated where shapes are voluminous and floaty, while sculpted detailing from Victorian menswear accentuates a flattering form in pointed fish tail cuts. Military button details are also offset with feminine puffed sleeves and sharply waisted cuts with full skirts.
Black River Falls by Cecilia Hammarborg proves outerwear can be just as titillating as what lies beneath.”
Cecilia Hammarborg’s covetable range of accessories, including silk scarves with logo gunbird print, can also be found at the new YMC store on Poland Street, and Beyond The Valley off Carnaby St. For those not in that part of London town, other stockists include No-One Boutique in Shoreditch. Collection also available from www.ceciliahammarborg.com

Now that the days are getting colder, I realise that getting a new coat would be a wise investment. I came across a beautiful selection of well tailored coats and jackets that are the perfect antidote to depressing weather conditions. Black River Falls is a collection of chic yet quirky outerwear produced in London by Swedish designer Cecilia Hammarborg.

I’ve fallen in love with the ruched sleeves and narrow shoulders of the Storm Petrel coat whose shape is accentuated with draping folds that flare elegantly.

The Riding Hood coat, straight out of a girl’s dream, comes with a perfectly shaped hood and a full swinging skirt.
The Fieldfare coat has an elegant and slim military shape that comes with a Victorian twist of puffed sleeves and a fish-tailed hemline, reminiscent of that era’s masculine apparel.
3 coats and 3 different fits : a very flattering silhouette for every girl!
The collection is available now from www.bespokeboutique.com
