Rumors rumors… Madonna should be the star of the Spring 2009 Louis Vuitton campaign. The campaign should be shot by the prolific Mert and Marcus. Interesting and possibly true.
We hear that Kenzo has set up a collaboration between British designer Ron Arad and French perfumer Aurélien Guichard, resulting in a new and, yes, revolutionary fragrance.
Available from March 2009, this new scent presents itself as a “perfume-object”, combining unusual yet attractive smell with a sensual as well as industrial looking bottle. Indeed, the main feature of this bottle resides in sleek steel curves, giving it a very tactile aspect, espousing the shape of one’s thumb.
This very appealing and contemporary look can be previewed at “No Discipline“, Ron Arad’s retrospective at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, opening on November 20 2008.

As if you needed extra ideas for potential Christmas presents, we came accross a limited edition puzzle set featuring a shot by Steven Meisel of model Meghan Collison, taken from Vogue Italia’s tattoo/Amy Winehouse inspired story (December 2007 issue).
This puzzling coffee table (almost) book can be purchased from Art + Commerce, for $750.
Now that’s what I call a posh present!

The puzzles (manufactured by Editions Ricordi) are also available at Colette in Paris and at Barneys New York.
Tina Berning – NO NIPPLES. NO GUNS. NO CIGARETTES. – November 14, 2008 – February 15, 2009
Tina Berning is showing her new works ‘NO NIPPLES. NO GUNS. NO CIGARETTES.’ on the November 14th, 2008 at 2 agenten, galerie für illustration in Berlin.
In her exhibition ‘NO NIPPLES. NO GUNS. NO CIGARETTES.’, Tina Berning explores the complex of relationships between conditioned aesthetics and supposed self-determination in the established canon of contemporary images. Within her works she refers to the exemplary representation of the human body as it is spread in the media. She elutes the figures from their surroundings and shows them remaining isolated in their poses. A reinterpretation arises in the interplay of voyerism and exhibitionism. Tina Berning’s exhibition ‘NO NIPPLES. NO GUNS. NO CIGARETTES.’ will be exposed for three months at galerie für illustration.
Please join us for the opening reception on November 14, 2008 at 7pm.
