The art collection belonging to the couturier Yves Saint Laurent – who passed away last June – and his partner Pierre Bergé will be auctioned in February 2009. Led by the auction house Christie’s in association with the auction house Pierre Bergé, the sale will take place in Paris.
The collection of both art lovers gathers Primitive arts, enamels, statuettes of the Renaissance, Art Deco furniture and a range of contemporary artists and Old Masters that includes Picasso, Warhol, Mondrian, Matisse and Goya… Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé took more than 40 years to collect these works.

Coco Chanel won’t be done inspiring the 7th art. After Anna Mouglalis starring in the film “Coco and Igor” by Jan Kounen which is based on her love story with Stravinsky, it is now turn to Audrey Tautou to embody the fashion icon in “Before Coco Chanel” directed by Anne Fontaine. Tautou plays the young designer from her obscure childhood to her rise to the top. It will be released in 2009.

Mass Studies, founded in 2003 by Minsuk Cho in Seoul, Korea, has produced some great examples of this. Among them is Ann Demelmeester’s store in Séoul. It is one of only four concept stores showcasing the fashions of the Flemish designer.
Grace Jones will release her first album this coming October… Corporate Cannibal is her first single in 19 years. While the voice is still very Grace, the music has gone a bit too trippy (Tricky?) to my taste… Maybe it will grown on me? Looking forward to the album though.
