Fashion in Film festival, London – 2nd edition

{Comments 0}

Fashion and cinema always had strong ties… While films often offered the perfect way to showcase strong designs, from the spectacular gowns by Adrian of the Hollywood golden age to the latest silhouettes from the runway on the red carpet today, fashion takes inspiration by the characters, actresses or just the general mood of a movie.
Starting on May 10, Film and Fashion lovers in London will be able to go to the movies with style!
“If Looks Could Kill: Cinema’s Images of Fashion, Crime and Violence” is a fantastic program that includes rare movies by Dario Argento, Louis Feuillade or Mario Bava.

Mario Bava

This extensive series of screenings and special events takes place across five major London arts venues between 10 – 31 May, 2008.

Programme Curator: Marketa Uhlirova
Associate Curator: Christel Tsilibaris

If Looks Could Kill: Cinema’s Images of Fashion, Crime and Violence is also the title of a forthcoming illustrated catalogue, co-published by Fashion in Film festival and Koenig Books in May 2008, and featuring thirty newly commissioned essays.

Fashion in Film is a collaborative research project based at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, and supported by numerous cultural and educational organisations internationally. Its wide-reaching biennial festivals showcase films in which fashion and costume play vital roles.
